Show being recognized among Canada’s Top Media Content at the 2011 Awards of Excellence Gala
Vancouver, April 24, 2011 – Earlier this month, the nominees for the Youth Media Alliance Awards of Excellence were announced in Toronto. Big Bad Boo’s “Mixed Nutz” Episode “Indian Wedding” was selected in the Animation category for the 6-8 age group, next to Nelvana’s “Babar and Adventures of Badou” and Marblemedia’s “Skatoony’s”.
In this episode of “Mixed Nutz”, Sanjay gets jealous when his Auntie Sonya announces she is getting married. He recruits the gang to sabotage the wedding! After a few failed attempts Sanjay comes around to accepting the situation and sends off the bride and groom with a big dance number.
“Being nominated next to Babar and competing with big names such as Marblemedia is a testament to the quality that Big Bad Boo continues to put out in its productions. We are very proud of our animation team and excited to be part of this stellar,” said writer/producer Aly Jetha.
The awards ceremony will be held on June 2nd in Toronto this year.
Overall, there are eleven award categories aiming to recognize the
importance of sending out positive messages to young Canadians via the TV
medium and the new platforms tailor-made for them. The Alliance received
